We’re excited to announce that Reddico has been certified as a B Corporation.

Certified B Corporations, or B Corps, have been verified to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. They are committed to doing what’s best for people and the planet and using business as a force for good.

So, what does it mean to be a B Corp?

  • B Corps give as much consideration to their social and environmental impact as they do to their financial returns, balancing purpose and profit.

  • B Corps must change their articles of association so they are legally required to consider the impact of their decisions on all stakeholders: the team, customers, suppliers, shareholders, community, and the environment. We were doing this before, but now have the legal commitment in place.

  • B Lab provides the framework for certification. You need to score 80 points out of 200 to certify.

  • Five core impact areas make up the 200 points, including the team, the environment, and society.

More information about becoming a B Corp can be found online.

Why was becoming a B Corp important to Reddico?

Becoming a B Corp allows us to:

  • Benchmark our performance. Throughout the application process we’ve been able to see what we’ve achieved, and it’s highlighted where we can do more – making us a better company.

  • Attract employees and clients that think and feel the same way.

  • Set ourselves apart from other businesses. The process to become a B Corp is intense because it holds companies to a high standard. There are only 1,100 B Corps in the UK and we’re proud to be one of them.

B Corp certification gives us the framework we need to bring everything together into our core DNA and decision-making. Since we began the application process, we’ve introduced:

Our certification is a reflection of 18 months hard work, and recognises the way we want to run our business now and in the future.

This is just the start for us. We look forward to being part of the B Corp community and continuing to improve the business over the next 3 years ready for recertification.
